Polis Diving Centre BS-AC Ocean Diver
Welcome to your BS-AC Ocean Diver Course, with Polis Diving Centre (PDC).
The course consists of seven knowledge sessions in our onsite classroom, using state of the art audiovisual equipment and five sheltered water sessions. After these there is an assessment followed by five open water dives where you will discover the wonders of the aquatic world. There will be a student workbook for you to read which compliments the theory sessions. Included in the course is elementary lifesaving.
The Knowledge Development sections cover various subjects such as how your body behaves under pressure, diving techniques and the equipment used. These are complimented with the help of the BSAC Ocean Diver Study Book and the BSAC Sports Diving Manual and a video. The Sheltered Water sessions are basically dives in safe water, this being either a pool or a sheltered bay. Here you practise using your equipment, various diving techniques and basic lifesaving.
The Open Water Dives are enjoyable Ocean Dives where you put into practise what you have learnt in the Sheltered Water sessions, under the watchful eyes of the BSAC Instructor. At the end of the course you will be familiar with your diving equipment, safe diving procedures and have developed sufficient self confidence to allow safe and enjoyable diving.
Virtually anyone with good health and reasonable fitness can learn to SCUBA dive. Participants as young as ten may complete the BSAC Ocean Diver programme and receive a junior credential until they reach fifteen years of age. Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive the BSAC Ocean Diver certification, which is recognised worldwide.
The course includes :
- BSAC Ocean Diver Pack (this consists of Student Video, Student workbook, divers logbook, qualification record book, decompression tables and the BSAC Sports Diving manual, a standard reference book for all levels of divers).
- Use of dive boat, suit, and diving equipment, and any course materials.
- Your open water dives will take place along the Akamas Peninsular.
